Keep Moving Towards Your Dream

I hope if you can internalize any message today, this message from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is the one that sticks with you all the most.

This is a bonus post for today, January 15th, 2024, so I will keep it as brief as Dr. King's message to us.

Truly, I didn’t plan on writing this, but I felt after spontaneously (thanks ads) hearing this message while editing today's planned post, A Dream About Narrative Medicine, that it’s vital for anybody that reads this blog to hear this speech.

If you have a dream or if you have ever had a dream, please listen to Dr. MLK Jr. give us a great message on:

How To Design Your Life’s Blueprint

I’ve summarized the key notes for you below, but it’s best if you hear it from the man who gave us these entirely too wise words.

What you need to Achieve and Follow your Life’s Blueprint:
  1. A Deep Belief in Your Own Dignity/Worth and Your Own Somebody-Ness:
Don’t let anybody ever make you feel that you aren’t somebody and make sure that you always feel that you have worth, that your life has the ultimate significance.

  2. Determination to Achieve Excellence in Whichever Field You Choose:
Once you discover whatever it is that you want to do, stay focused on that task beyond all struggle and beyond all setbacks.

  3. Commitment:
Commit yourself to everything related to Beauty, Love & Justice and let those three pillars guide you forward through all your hardships.

"If you can't walk, crawl, but by any means -- keep moving," Dr. King told us in this brief 2:30 message.

These seem like the simplest three things, but we all occasionally lose sight of our Dreams.

Try not to and if you do, come back to your dream when you do have time and when you’re ready.

I pressed pause on my dreams for nearly 20 years and this blog is me hitting the “Play” button again.

I hope this message from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. inspired you today as much as it has inspired me.

Keep moving, everybody. We’ve got dreams to accomplish.
